摘要
This article is a critical overview of capitalist reforms in China's countryside, and their impact on China's agriculture, farmers, and rural areas. Through interviewing a large numbers of farmers and local officials, the authors conclude that capitalist restoration in China has created a tremendous threefold crisis for China's agriculture, rural areas, and farmers with huge impact on global grain markets and the global environment. The Chinese Communist Party and its hold on power is at the stake. The resulting intensification of class struggle may force the Chinese Communist Party to reconnect with the Chinese working classes in the near future.
