REGIONALIZATION AND REFORM OF MOROCCAN CONSTITUTION

Today the majority of States have some form of decentralization of power. That responds to various needs of each State. The wide range of possibilities offered by this principle of state organization allows the establishment of a variety of models in order to adapt the state structure to the social, political, historical or cultural features of the society. Morocco which has already embarked on the road towards regionalization must assume the challenges of this reform that are linked to the democratic reconstruction in a constitutional and legislative framework. Also, the arrangement of the elements necessary for economic and social development may make the territorial frameworks of the regions more democratic and competitive environments in the new era of globalization. Furthermore, it is expected that this reform may provide a solution to the Sahara conflict.
