Some aspects of quantum dimensions of primary fields of WZW theories are described. Quantum dimensions are an important tool in the analysis of the fusion rules, both for the description of general properties and for actual calculations. A complete list of WZW primaries having quantum dimension not larger than two is presented. An amazing connection between the presence of such fields and the value of the conformal central charge emerges.
