AN INFLUENCE OF LINE OVERLAPPINGS ON SPECTRAL AND ENERGY CHARACTERISTICS OF A CO EIL

摘要
A nonsteady kinetic model of a CO EIL which takes into account PP and PR overlappings of emission lines has been employed to study lasing characteristics. Starting from pressures of approximately 0.1 atm (T approximately 100 K) the line overlappings are shown to change drastically the vibration-rotational lasing spectrum, in particular, the great number of P lines is not observed. Under pressures in the order of and higher than the atmospheric one the line overlapping result in substantial (up to dozens of times) reduction in the efficiency and limit sharply feasibility of smooth tuning of the laser radiation frequency.
