Perception of teachers of the School of Medicine of the UNMSM regarding the virtual classroom in the teaching of Biochemistry

摘要
In this research was proposed to identify the perceptions and opinions that teachers have about the virtual classroom in the teaching of biochemistry. Eight Biochemistry teachers selected by convenience sampling, participated in the study. The research was developed with qualitative descriptive approach, in which participation was prior informed consent, in-depth interviews were conducted and audio-recorded. For the analysis process, open, axial and selective reduction was used. The teachers had an average of 19 years of university teaching experience. The analysis of the results allows to identify the following categories in the perceptions of the participants: I: recognizing the virtual classroom as part of the teaching activity; II: identifying new forms of teacher / student interaction in the teaching of Biochemistry; and III: recognizing the need for the formation of ICTs applied to education. The virtual classroom is recognized as an academic tool, but it demands effort and additional time from the teacher, and also identifies the need for a change of attitude in teaching. They admit that students have better affinity and skill in ICT, therefore the training and debate need in the face of the new role of the teacher in the teaching of Biochemistry with virtual classroom support.
