Development of Evidence Experience in Balint Group Work

On the basis of several case examples this paper explains how the Balint Group Process can make preconscious memories consciously available from case consultations between doctors and patients. This consequently enables the recording of meaning contexts and evidence experience pertaining to an understanding of these relationships. This is discussed with regard to subjective doubts as to the correctness of the doctors' actions and possible treatment errors. In conclusion the relevance of such processes for institutions and their respective risk management are outlined.
