摘要：
Potential of birdwatching tourism in the Caribbean. An analysis of Dominican Republic. Sun and beach tourism, in resort hotels "all inclusive", is the main tourism of Dominican Republic. But the tourist is changing, and looking for new experiences in contact with nature and local culture. Dominican Republic has potential to design new typologies, complementary to sun and beach tourism, which on the one hand, improve the supply, and on the other hand, leave benefits in local communities. One of these types is the ornithological tourism. The objective of this investigation is to analyze the potential of birdwatching tourism in the Dominican Republic, through of a fieldwork, emphasizing the benefits that this tourism can generate in the local community, through of good use of natural resources and birds.
