Employing articulation theory, this article examines the presentation of gender and sexuality in the CBS Saturday morning television program Pee Wee's Playhouse. It argues the program, nominally a children's program but with a significant adult audience, poses questions and presents problems that are usually silenced, particularly on television, and in so doing, is an important site at which the struggles of the constitution of gender may be discerned.
