DYNAMICS OF CHARGE-DENSITY WAVES IN ELECTRON-IRRADIATED K0.3MOO3

摘要
A systematic study is carried out on K0.3MoO3 crystals irradiated with 2.5-MeV electrons. The high-temperature charge-density-wave (CDW) threshold field ET and the static dielectric constant ('0) are measured in the temperature range 40<T<70 K, and the low-temperature CDW depinning field ET* and the dielectric constant * at liquid-helium temperature (4.2 K) are also measured, all as functions of increasing irradiation dosage. Empirical relations among these quantities, which characterize the dynamics of charge-density waves in both the high-temperature and the low-temperature regimes, are established. Our experimental results are then compared with current theoretical models. © 1990 The American Physical Society.
