摘要
The prospective in question approaches the study of technological monitoring of the production process of polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB), using as sources of information databases of patents. To do so, the bases Espacenet (EP). The data were obtained using as keywords "polyhydroxyalkanoate", "polyhydroxybutyrate" and "polyhydroxyvalerate" and the international code C08L67, obtaining in this way a total of 376 documents, removing the documents in duplicate using Microsoft Excel Software, 198 was quantified patents. Regarding the analysis on the evolution of annual patents, 8.5% were filed in 2000, 17.7% in the period from 2007 to 2008 and 8.1% in 2012. The United States (35% deposit), Japan (33%) and China (16%) are the three countries with the highest number of patent documents, especially if the institutions with their inventors, Procter & Gamble, the U.S. (Harry Melik) and Metabolix (R) (Isao Noda) and Japanese Canon (R) (Yano Tetsuya).
