REDUCTION OF CO2 FROM COMBUSTION FLUE-GASES BY AN AC FERROELECTRIC PACKED-BED REACTOR

摘要
An experimental investigation has been conducted to reduce the carbon dioxide gas concentration from a model combustion gas using an AC ferroelectric packed bed reactor. The model gas composition was adjusted to a rate of N2:O2:CO2=0.75:0.15:0.1 to simulate the flue gases emitted by fossil-fuel-burning power stations. An AC voltage is applied to the reactor to generate partial or spark discharges. The results show that: 1) The CO2 gas reduction rate increases with increasing primary applied electric power; 2) The CO2 gas reduction rate increases with decreasing dielectric constant of packed ferroelectric particles; 3) The CO2 concentration is reduced by up to 16000 ppm and 30 g of CO2 are reduced by 1 kWh of applied energy (energy yield: Ey) used in the packed bed reactor.
