摘要
A new mathematical model for forced oscillations in suspension bridges is proposed. The model is based on the classical Deflection Theory model for suspension bridges, but incorporates new ideas recently proposed in the McKenna model. Two numerical methods are presented for the approximation of the equation, and numerical experiments indicate that the new model exhibits ''large amplitude oscillations'' often found in suspension bridges subjected to periodic input.
