摘要：
Introduction: The bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) is a transmissible, slowly progressive disease that causes fatal lesions in the brain. Purpose: This retrospective study highlighted the risks of people being exposed to animals suffering from Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy, and the prevention and treatment measures. Methodology: The study material has recently been articles on the topic were found mainly in electronic databases. Results: The transmission of infection is made with protein factors, called Prion, through the food chain. Some cases of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease in humans possibly caused by the consumption of contaminated bovine spongiform encephalopathy beef. Conclusion: For the protection of public health from the disease bovine spongiform encephalopathy, sought the cooperation of all parties involved in the control of these impacts effort.
