IDEA MANAGEMENT: AN EMPIRICAL STUDY IN THE FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF SANTA CATARINA

Ideas are vital for innovation and in turn, it is the source of improvements for public and private organizations. From the need for better understanding the issue of ideas for innovation in public organizations, this exploratory qualitative study aims to characterize the flow of ideas in a Pro-Rector of the Federal University of Santa Catarina. For this, semi-structured interviews were used as a technique for data collection. As a result, unintentional actions to improve the quantity and quality of ideas were not found, as well as the use of creativity techniques for this was not identified. As future prospects, new studies are recommended, which address the remaining sectors of the university, featuring in depth the flow of ideas in the organization.
