Theorethical and applied aspects of integrating phenomenology into built heritage conservation practice

What is the role of heritage? How we establish criteria to enlist them? What is the relationship of people with this process and with the listed items? These are just some of the issues driving this conference where architect Jeremy Wells reflects on current standards for heritage under the light of positivist science by proposing a radicalization of the approaches by thinking (and acting) in a phenomenological way. The focus becomes the notion of place, experience and sensations that places of historical significance and patina provoke in people who relate with them daily.
