摘要：

An inclusion of finite dimensions in which the velocity of propagation of waves is variable is situated in a half space with a constant velocity of wave propagation. It is irradiated with plane waves which propagate in the half space at all possible angles to the boundary. The stresses arising on the boundaries during the scattering process are recorded. Using these stresses, it is required that the velocity be recovered. A recovery procedure is described and a uniqueness theorem is presented.
