Electron paramagnetic resonance in YAG:Nd3+ crystals grown by the horizontally directed crystallization method is investigated in 8 mm range. The upper boundary for Nd3+ ions concentration in octahedric positions of YAG:Nd3+ crystals has been found not to exceed 5-7 % of the total neodymium concentration in dodecahedric positions of the lattice. For the first time the temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibility of YAG:Nd3+ crystals grown by the method has been experimentally investigated in 5-300 K range. A good agreement between the experiment and the theory, assuming that all neodymium ions are only in c-positions of the lattice, has been found. Neodymium ions concentration in the tested crystals has been determined, and the diamagnetic contribution to the magnetic susceptibility has been estimated.
