USING THE ANALYTIC HIERARCHY PROCESS IN WATER-RESOURCES PLANNING - SELECTION OF FLOOD-CONTROL PROJECTS

摘要
This paper describes an application of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to water resource planning. The AHP was used to evaluate the feasibility of several projects proposed to provide flood protection along the Grand River and Tar Creek in Miami, Oklahoma. This area has been the site of several floods causing heavy property damage. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers was asked to develop several options for flood control. The AHP model developed by the authors was used by several participants from the Corps to gain insight into the decision options. © 1991.
