DISPOSAL OF HAZARDOUS-WASTE - COST AND LIABILITY ISSUES

Disposal of hazardous waste in the United states is emerging as a major sub-industry of the environmental movement. Much of the concern relating to disposal evolves around its cost and liability. Legislation regulating disposal activities of hazardous materials has been in response to political concerns. These factors have resulted in a more regulated community in handling and disposing of hazardous materials. Awareness of these issues are slowly becoming of greater concern to the medium and small companies. This paper presents various issues related to disposal, particularly focusing on liability and cost as related to political problems.
