摘要
This article discusses the critical economic impact of government produced electronic information. The contradictions inherent in the current marketplace are drawn, with special emphasis on how these affect the individual citizen. it is asserted that government agencies should provide citizens with broad and low-cost access to government information. Agencies should also use the most modern types of technology to disseminate information and to provide so-called value-added services to make that information useful.
