THE CONDITIONING OF BOUNDARY-VALUE-PROBLEMS IN TRANSFERABLE DIFFERENTIAL-ALGEBRAIC EQUATIONS

The well-conditioning of boundary value problems for transferable differential-algebraic equations is shown to be related, as in the case of explicit ordinary differential equations, to the boundary conditions and the Green function. In this case other quantities, related to the well-transferability and the movement speed of the null space of the leading coefficient, also appear in the bound. The condition number of the related multiple shooting matrix is also bounded in terms of the quantities mentioned above.
