The Ombudsman: a political - administrative body for the protection of rights

The importance of the Ombudsman Institution grows in order to protect the rights of citizens against the errors, injustices and negligence of Public Administrations, and even of judges and legislators. It is necessary to promote its autonomy and independence as a fundamental support tool for defending citizens' rights, without any obstacles interfering with that relationship, against the huge increase in legislative and statutory provisions, and the wave of actions taken by the Administrations that affect citizens.
