摘要
Ideologically, the field of early childhood education today is embroiled in controversy, with disagreement being voiced on the educative value of play and the role that should be ascribed to it in the curriculum of the preschool. This article reviews theory and research suggesting that important developmental processes may evolve through play. If children have just claims to play as a right that permits the release of important developmental capacities, then it is incumbent upon adults to advocate on that behalf. © 1991 Human Sciences Press, Inc.
