LASER STRENGTH OF A BICRYSTALLINE LITHIUM NIOBATE-TANTALATE SYSTEM

摘要
Laser strength of a bicrystalline lithium niobate-tantalate system has been investigated for the first time. The system is prepared by solid-phase diffusion blending of specially prepared lithium niobate and lithium tantalate crystals. It is shown that the laser strength of the interphase boundary is at least twice that of the lithium niobate surface. The laser strength of the bicrystal is determined by that of the surface of the lithium tantalate and exceeds 600 MW/cm2.
