摘要
Certain finite element methods for characterizing crack tip fields, stress intensity factor, and energy release rate for problems formulated in the context of linear elastic fracture mechanics have been applied in the analysis of a nonlinear hyperelastic material, including large deformation effects. To benchmark numerical capabilities, results are compared with an analytic asymptotic solution provided by Knowles and Sternberg [15, 16]. Good agreement between analytic and numerical results is demonstrated. The influence of large deformation on energy release rate is illustrated. © 1990 Kluwer Academic Publishers.
