摘要
As part of a study aimed at determining the feasibility of producing a bleachable grade of pulp from whole-tree utilization of young Eucalyptus viminalis Labill. , the above-ground distribution of dry weight in six 38-month-old trees was obtained, and the physical and chemical properties of the different tree components determined. Although 72% more raw material than that available from bolewood alone would be realized by utilizing all above-ground tree components, the high ash and extractives contents of bark and foliage are expected to contribute to equipment abrasion, increased pulping chemical consumption, lower digester yields, and increased nutrient removals from the site.
