摘要
During 1976-78, seven trips were made to Lake Bullawarra and 29,118 mosquitoes comprising 19 species were collected. Vertical and horizontal distribution of mosquitoes was investigated using chicken baited traps at three different heights (0, 6 and 12 m) and three horizontal distances from shore (0, 31 and 57 m). Culex quinquefasciatus was the most localised species, being captured at ground level and close to the lake shore. Culex annulirostris, Anopheles annulipes s.l. and Aedes eidsvoldensis were also more common close to the ground, but no significant differences in the distribution of these species were found away from the lake edge. These species were also the most common in the majority of the other collections.
