摘要
Recurrent changes in educational area assign the association of binomial quality-result to organizational performance, such as productivity, profitability and competitiveness, so that they provide knowledge and efficiency and effectiveness indicators. Then, this research aimed to identifying elements that define efficiency and effectiveness for strategic spheres of higher education institutions from Brazilian private network, having as a research problems factors listed by executives and other professionals with HEI decision making power that point to the constitution of the efficiency and effectiveness from these organizations. The theoretical framework presents definitions of efficiency and effectiveness, including through the educational scope. The method was an exploratory empirical research, focused on a qualitative approach and supported by methodology of discourse analysis with semi-structured interview technique aimed at identifying perception about the "n" efficiency and efficacy factors in the strategic decisions, aiming at researches the higher education institution from the Brazilian private network, represented by organizations the city from Sao Paulo. As a result, it was possible to identify which cost, result and impact are efficiency and effectiveness factors listed by executives for decision making, based on capacity to do something the best possible way, motivating institutional development and their administrative and academic quality indicators.
