摘要
Creeping flow across a row of cylinders located between a membrane and a solid plate and mass transfer from the fluid stream through the membrane were studied theoretically. A numerical solution for the product of the friction factor and the Reynolds number was obtained and found to be a function of the dimensionless diameter γ. A numerical solution for the Sherwood number, Sh, was expressed as a function of the Peclet number, Pe, the dimensionless diameter, γ, the number of cylinders, n, and the dimensionless membrane permeability, P. The solution for mass transfer indicated that, with increasing γ, Sh increases at large values of Pe and small values of n, while Sh decreases at small values of Pe and large values of n.
