Guardians of the Fragile : Public Libraries, Cultural Heritage and Diversity

The author suggests that the definitions, standards and international practices regarding the protection of cultural heritage, identity, diversity, on the one hand, and public libraries, on the other, be revised. In a comparative analysis, he wishes to underscore the importance of information services whose responsibility it is to collect, conserve, protect and make available the collective memory of humankind.
