1ST RESULTS FROM THE POLOIDAL DIVERTOR EXPERIMENT IN THE STE-2 REVERSED-FIELD PINCH

摘要
Reversed field pinch (RFP) with a single poloidal-null has been produced in a discharge chamber having an outer divertor chamber. No conducting shell was attached in the present experiment. The poloidal divertor configurations were sustained for the period of a wall time constant. Dominance of the m = 1 tearing modes in magnetic fluctuations was not affected by the divertor configurations. Introducing the divertor configurations brought about no deleterious effect on the plasma performance with a divertor current of up to 30% of the main plasma current.
