Perception of population living in the village of Canamero about Geopark Villuercas-Ibores-Jara (Extremadura, Spain)

In Extremadura tourism sector has grown considerably in the last decades, although disparities between UNESCO World Heritage cities and rural regions such as Villuercas-Ibores-Jara are observed. The declaration of Geopark in 2011 will mean presumably differences in the lives of the local population, so knowing their perception of the Geopark is necessary. More than 100 local people of Canamero were interviewed in order to know their opinion about Geopark. Results showed 84% of local population considers that the Geopark will be positive, but many think that tourism facilities are still scarce.
