摘要
An energy approach is taken to predict fatigue crack growth rates. By including the strain energy released by crack blunting, an expression for fatigue crack growth is derived that depends upon the applied DELTAK and the material's modulus, yield strength and fracture toughness. This expression is shown to be valid for a variety of titanium, nickel, aluminum and stainless steel alloys.
