摘要
Types of sport orienteering are presented as a means of health improvement and intellectual development among students. The article contains detailed description of essential technical and tactical actions, needed while passing a route of sport orienteering, which contribute to acquiring new knowledge of topography, memory development, attention concentration, enhancing perceptual and imaging skills, sense of distance and speed as well as overall space sense. States the results of successful practicing in sport orienteering in the university, not specializing in physical culture, due to establishing of "Sport orienteering" specialization.
