THE STRATEGY FOR OFFSHORE OIL DEVELOPMENT

The rapid development of world economy will inevitably consume large amount of energy sources. Searching for the sufficient energy in a moderate price has become an important task for the economic development in the various countries. Petroleum is still one of the most important energies in the world, because of its easy recovery and transportation, and high value of utilization. Energy sources are the strategic priority of national economic development in China, in which oil and gas are one of the most important energies. The development of China's oil industry experienced a long and hard procedures. It was not until after the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, that a real progress was made in petroleum industry. The oil output in China exceeded 10 million in 1965, met the target of 100 million t in 1978, and reached 138 million t in 1990 plus 14.77 billion m3 of natural gas. Since then, China has become one of the major oil producers.
