The representation in the Venezuelan electoral system

In this article is studied the role of representation in the Venezuelan electoral system. From an analysis of the Constitution, the Organic Law of Electoral Processes and parliamentary elections of 2010, evaluates how was the performance, explaining the irregularities that occurred through the manipulation of the law and the application of gerrymandering, which produces an overrepresentation in most constituencies malapportionment and contributes to an exaggerated disproportion between votes and seats benefiting a particular option in this case the ruling party. This bias prevents fair and balanced representation, undermining the democratic and constitutional principles of equality of votes and proportionality, directly impacting on the occupation by the benefited party, all public authorities, thus affecting the separation of functions, an issue that facilitates the establishment of totalita-rian and autonomous governments.
