摘要：
The work refers to the compost produced from municipal wastes by DANO technology in Warsaw. The investigations of chromium behaviour under the conditions of utilization of compost in agriculture were carried out. The physico-chemical speciation of chromium by Tessier's method - typical for agriculture-was done. In this method the elements are divided into five fractions by sequential extraction with suitable solutions. Also leaching of chromium with simulated rain solutions (including acid rain) was studied. The method of determination of chromium(VI) in the compost was elaborated. The extraction of chromium(VI) from compost sample by sodium hydroxide solution was applied and chromium in the solution was determined by AAS method. The data obtained can be used as an additional criterion of suitability of the compost as a fertilizer.
