摘要
The relationship between orality and literacy is no longer seenas a reductionist opposition that ignores the many aspects involved in the way textual genres are structured. In this article, we aim to discuss how the discursive strategies adopted in the meaning negotiation which is established between interlocutors on Twitter make this written genre similar toprototypical oral genres, such as face-to-faceconversation. Based on the theoretical contributions of Gee (2006), Marcuschi (2002, 2006); Marcuschi and Dionysus (2007), Violi (2009), among other authors, we came to the conclusion that Twitter, just like other genres that have been rising from practicessetby technological advances in the past decades, accommodates such hybrid forms of communication that it challenges the dichotomy regarding the modalities of language.
