A field experiment was conducted during rabi seasons of 1984-85 and 1985-86 at S.K.N. College of Agriculture, Jobner on loamy sand soils. Results indicated that sulphur significantly increased the primary and secondary branches/plant upto 160 kg s/ha and dry matter upto 160 kg s/ha during 1984-85 and upto 240 kg s/ha during 1985-86. Application of nitrogen significantly increased the primary and secondary branches/plant upto 90 kg N/ha. The dry matter/plant increased significantly upto kg N/ha during 1984-85 and upto 120 kg N/ha during 1985-86. The chlorophyll 'a' and 'b' content also increased significantly due to the application of sulphur as well as nitrogen.
