THE PERSPECTIVE OF DIRECT LOGISTICS AND REVERSE LOGISTICS SYSTEMS: THE CASE OF A COMPANY IN THE INDUSTRIAL FIELD OF BEVERAGES

This study aims to understand the logistics systems direct and reverse under an optical company that operates in the field of industrial drinks. The literature shows that logistics refers to direct material flow from the point of acquisition through the point of consumption, while the reverse logistics denotes the flow of materials to the consumption point to the origin point. This research is qualitative, focusing on issues such as exploratory and descriptive, guided by a case study. Data were collected through a questionnaire, defined from a research roadmap of the theoretical model of Leite (2009) and Lo and Minh (2010), applied to company directors with direct action in logistic processes. The results showed that the company has forward and reverse logistics processes so formalized and consolidated, and its effectiveness is proven by means of several factors limiting this activity. Finally, it was possible to conclude by offering suggestions that can be applied by the company, mainly in relation with retailers and end consumers as well as indicators to measure the performance of reverse logistics.
