摘要
This paper proposes a concept of Advanced Asia-Pacific Telecommunications Satellite (AAPTS) for future high data rate telecommunications in the Asia-Pacific region. The high data rate transmission will be indispensable for scientific, computer network, etc. Such high data rate will also contribute the development in the Asia-Pacific region. The AAPTS system is designed which consists of two satellites having Kaband earth-space links and optical inter-satellite links. Each satellite has the total capability of 10 Gb/s with 1 Gb/s single link transmissions. This paper discusses to optimize the system concept for more realistic configuration in terms of service areas, antenna beam shape and ISDN applicability.
