Evaluation of the Orientation and Mentoring in the Faculty of Education Sciences of the University of Cordoba

This study highlights the importance of orientation and tutorial action at university level. These functions should be defined and renewed so that they can successfully pass on the training students. We performed a study with students from the Faculty of Education at the University of Cordoba in order to know the assessment of this discipline during the year 2012/2013 and checked that attendance and the effect of tutorials are conditioned by certain variables. The research process was conducted through a questionnaire with open and closed questions answered on a Likert scale. The method responds to a descriptive non-experimental cross-sectional study. The results show that students have a low perception of the tutorial model that is developed at this university, and that its assessment varies depending on the gender and age of the students, as well as the specialization of the degree to which it belongs. The need to change the design of the functionality of students attending tutorials, as part of their academic process and not just as a place for the review of qualifications is inferred.
