Text of the famous conference of the French writer Paul Valery, where the question "What is Dance?" is associated with the famous question "What is Time?", formulated by Augustine of Hippo in his Confessions. Valery thinks of dance as a kind of poetry of living beings' actions and emphasizes the inherent intelligence of the body.
