摘要
The fault's behaves is considered like a dynamical system. We characterize the seismic activity of the Andean region using nonlinear technics likeself- organized criticality theory and nonlinear time series analysis. The data used on this study was taken on the seismological catalogue of the Geophysics Lab of the Universidad de Los Andes which has, in the study area, 2120 independent events (from 1983 to 2005 in the study area). In order to characterize the dynamic we use the selforganized criticality theory via two observables: seismic events magnitude and time between events. Using the Taken's Theorem, the system's dynamic is rebuilt in a 25 dimension phase space with an optimal delay of 10 units. Was found, through the principal components method, that the eigenvalues of the system are similar, therefore, any projection of the phase space will imply an important loss of the information of the system. The results obtained of the characterization of the seismic activity in the Andean Region of the fault's indicate that more data is required in order to do a better rebuild of the dynamical's system.
