摘要
The trail pheromone was isolated from the whole-body extract of the termite Coptotermes formosanus Shiraki through various chromatographic operations, and its trail-following activity was determined by bioassays. The primary structure of the pheromone was determined as normal chain dodecatrien-1-ol by capillary GC-MS (gas chromatography-mass spectrometry) analysis. Moreover, the complete structure of the trail pheromone was found to be (Z,Z,E) -3,6,8-dodecatrien-1-ol by means of capillary GC-MS analysis after acetylation, partial hydrogenation, and ozonolysis of the isolated trail pheromone. Capillary GC-MS HR-SIM (high resolution-selected ion monitoring) analysis also confirmed that the trail pheromone existed in the sternal gland.
