PHORESY OF SOME ARACHNIDS (ACARINA AND PSEUDOSCORPIONIDEA) ON SYNANTHROPIC FLIES (DIPTERA) IN THE SOUTH SLOVAKIA

The authors study the phoresy of some mites (Acarina) and pseudoscorpions (Pseudoscorpionidea) on the synanthropic flies (Diptera) in the flood plain forests in the South Slovakian lowland. The phoresy of the mites on the flies represented a relatively rare phenomenon. The abundance of flies and their attractivity for mites were found to be the main factors responsable for the intensity of phoresy of mites on the flies.
