摘要
A model is developed to calculate the time dependent probability of a hazard for components used in a shut down system. A protective system is characterized by two random variables: (i) demand for protective action and (ii) equipment failure. Since the failures are unannounced, the system is periodically tested. A Markov model is developed and closed form formulae are obtained for various state probabilities.
