摘要：
The article deals with the evolution of the views of Dominick LaCapra, a well-known American intellectual historian. A comparative study of his works demonstrates that for all changes in research topics, LaCapra's aspiration for 'transitive' dialogue both with the past and its most powerful interpretations - Derrida's deconstruction in 1970s, new social history in 1980s, and studies of trauma in 1990s - early 2000s - was preserved throughout all periods of his work.
