摘要：
A one-dimensional reaction-diffusion model of normal and tumor tissue growth has been proposed in this paper. ft has been observed that spatially variable seff diffusion coefficients acts as a key factor for explaining the characteristic properties of tumor tissue growth. The concept of the introduction of a spatially variable self diffusion coefficient in the reaction-diffusion model comes from the idea of 'contact cell inhibition' of mitosis which is a well recognized hypothesis in Biology.
