SURVEY ON THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE HOSPITAL CENTER AND THE PEDIATRIC PRACTITIONERS IN THE OUTPATIENT MANAGEMENT OF HIV-POSITIVE CHILDREN

Due to the increasing number of HIV-positive children, a strict connection between the referring hospital centers and the pediatric practitioners is developing. To address this emerging trend, a collaborative study in the 1992 march-may period has been performed by mailing to each pediatric practitioner in the main towns of our region a specific questionnaire indagating the degree of personal knowledge and professional sensibility toward the question. Most interviewed pediatricians confirmed the will to rake care of HIV patients along with the demand for a close collaboration with the specialistic hospital department.
